The City That Never Sleeps is about to meet the girl that doesn't quit. Jessica Simpson stars as Katie Gregerstitch, a small-town Oklahoma beauty who's come to New York to visit her long-time boyfriend. But after finding him in the arms of another woman, Katie decides to lose her cheating man and to find herself. With the help of two scheming co-workers (Andy Dick and Penelope Ann Miller), she lands a job at a top construction firm where she meets and falls for a great guy (Luke Wilson) with an even greater secret. Now, nothing is going to stop this go-getter from getting exactly what her heart desires in the romantic comedy that proves you can't keep a bri! ght, beautiful down-home girl down. Also starring Willie Nelson. The third novel in this witty and risqué series takes readers behind the scenes of the intoxicating world of Hollywood glitterati. Upper East Side blueblood Anna Percy came to L.A. to learn how to have a good time. Then Princeton prince Ben Birnbaum and his amazing disappearing act turned out to be anything but. Anna finally begins to understand that telling true love from true lust us is far more easily said than done.
Megan Valentine was America's sweetheart. But her latest movie is a bomb, and a crooked accountant has left her broke. So she's doing what anyone else would do - joining the Army. Now, there's no star treatment, no stunt doubles and no second takes. But with the help of the other recruits, she'll find the motivation she needs to be all she can be and make it through basic training with style. Also starring Vivica A. Fox, Steve Guttenberg, Olesya Rulin, Cheri Oteri and Jill Marie Jones. The t! umbling blond locks and preternaturally white smile of Jessica! Simpson brighten up Private Valentine. Megan Valentine (Simpson), the fluffy star of many talking animal movies, discovers her accountant has embezzled all her money and her boyfriend is gay. Thinking it will help her gain control over her life, she blithely signs up for the army--but independent thinking is not exactly what the army has in mind. She and her multi-ethnic platoon-mates bond over midnight chocolate raids, disco dancing, and digging up an embarrassing past secret of her drill sergeant (Vivica A. Fox, not exactly convincing as a hard-as-nails soldier). But will she gain the respect she most craves--her own? Private Valentine is a flimsy retread of Goldie Hawn's classic 1980 comedy Private Benjamin. But despite its many, many flaws--most significantly, after humiliating her platoon repeatedly, Valentine wins them over far too easily--Private Valentine is so puppy-dog eager to please that it's hard to dislike. Simpson cheerfully makes fun of h! erself and clearly wants to escape her sex-bomb image (the movie puts very little emphasis on her curves). Also featuring Steve Guttenberg, Cheri Oteri, and an actually funny (and all too brief) appearance by Michael Hitchcock (Best In Show, Waiting for Guffman). --Bret FetzerBarbie® doll as Goldie Hawn pays tribute to a beloved star from the classic and controversial variety show, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. This doll wears a checkered bikini inspired by one famously worn by Goldie the go-go dancer in "The Mod, Mod World" segment. The wacky body paintings, also part of Goldie's costume, are re-created in great detail.
